The Size of Starfield and the space exploration aspect of the game
In the vastness of space, the possibilities for exploration seem endless. This holds for Starfield, the game from Bethesda Softworks. With a universe estimated to be four times the size of their previous hit, Skyrim, players will have ample opportunities to chart new territories and uncover untold secrets. But it's not just about the sheer size of the game that is impressive; it's also the level of detail that has gone into crafting this fictional universe. From the various planets to the different alien races, everything has a unique backstory and contribution to the Starfield universe. So, get ready to blast off into the unknown and carve out your own destiny among the stars.
Character Creator in Starfield
Starfield's character creator is the best one from Bethesda yet. With endless customization options, players can create their own unique avatar in a game that promises to take players on an interstellar adventure. From facial features to body type and clothing options, every aspect of a player's character can be tailored to their personal preferences. What's more, the character creator allows players to choose their character's backstory, which will impact their interactions with NPCs and the game's storyline. It also offers a variety of traits similar to a Fallout vein, that offer unique twists to the game. My character has the dream home perk which even early on has opened a new side quest.
The Storyline of Starfield and Countless Side Quests
Set in a vast open-world galaxy, players will take on the role of a space explorer on a mission to uncover the mysteries of the universe. The main quest seems to be a classic find the McGuffin storyline that is reminiscent of a space version of National Treasure. In addition to the main quest, players will be able to take on countless side quests that will lead them to new planets and encounters with various alien species. One particular side quest (spoiler for an early game side quest!) has you helping a poor understaffed area of a city solve a brownout problem. On the surface, it seems like a classic errand mission for any RPG, but if you delve deeper, it's an elaborate scheme to skim money for a bank, while also developing the backstory and reputation of a corporation prolific throughout the game. With Bethesda's reputation for immersive worlds and engaging stories, Starfield is shaping up to be a must-play for all sci-fi and RPG fans alike.
Starfield's Graphics and Visuals
With the developers taking the exclusive step for the new consoles, the graphics of Starfield have been vastly improved compared to its predecessors like Fallout 4. The level of detail on the spacecraft alone is enough to impress even the most demanding gamers. From the sleek designs of futuristic shuttles to the majestic beauty of far-off planets, every aspect of the game's visuals has been crafted with precision and care. The planets are also highly detailed, with stunning vistas and landscapes that feel like they could be part of a real galaxy. The urban areas, too, have been painstakingly created to provide a realistic yet futuristic setting where players can explore the game world in greater detail. From the looks of it, Starfield is going to be an incredible experience for players.
Starfield Combat Mechanics is Fallout without the VATS
Starfield Combat Mechanics is Fallout without the famous VATS system. While this news may come as a shock to some Fallout fans, it doesn't necessarily mean that Starfield's combat will be inferior. Players can expect to experience first-person shooting mechanics that feel more modern and fluid, with an emphasis on player skill and reaction time. While certainly an improvement over Bethesda's previous RPGs I still would not consider combat a strength of Starfield.
Crafting System and Outpost Building
Starfield, like many other Bethesda games is unique in how many items you can interact with. If you're like me this leads to a lot of in-game hoarding. While that coffee cup might not be worth the inventory space the ability to craft unique items and construct personalized outposts does make it worth your while to loot as much as possible. Starfield has an updated system for crafting using a research station to allow new mods for weapons and spacesuits, recipes for food and pharmaceuticals or new equipment for outposts. The outposts are something I haven't been able to dive into yet. But you can create many outposts to use as a bases on planets and to extract resources, which can be used or traded to make you the mining tycoon you didn't know you always wanted to be! Whether gathering materials to fashion tools and weapons or working to establish a fortified homestead, players have the freedom to shape their own adventure.

My Initial Impressions After 10 Hours of Gameplay
Having spent a good 10 hours exploring the vast expanse of Starfield, my first impressions are highly positive. The game's immersive narrative, coupled with its exquisitely detailed universe, keeps you engrossed at every turn. The interactions with alien species and the skill-based progression system add a layer of depth that makes every decision feel impactful. The spaceship's mechanics are thrillingly fun, and the freedom to chart my own course through the cosmos is truly exhilarating. While it's still early days, the potential for endless adventure that Starfield promises has certainly left me wanting more. I can't wait to continue my journey through this grand spectacle of a game. Starfield has, indeed, boldly gone where no game has gone before!
